Community Access & Social Support

Support

Getting out, staying connected, and enjoying life

Community access support is about more than getting from A to B. It’s about helping you build confidence, explore new experiences, and feel genuinely part of the world around you. Whether you want to attend appointments, join local activities, or simply spend more time out in your community, our team is here to make it happen.

Services

Community Access Support

Community Access Support helps you get out into your community with confidence. Our support workers accompany you to the places and activities that matter to you, providing as much or as little assistance as you need to participate fully and enjoy your day.

What does community access support include?

Community access support can include transport to and from appointments, outings to local attractions, shopping centres, parks, or events, assistance at medical or therapy appointments, support at community groups or classes, and help with any personal care needs while you’re out. Every outing is planned around your goals and preferences.

How do I get this funded in my NDIS plan?

Community access is typically funded under Capacity Building or Core Supports in your NDIS plan. If you’re unsure whether you have funding available, our team can help you understand your plan or connect you with your support coordinator to discuss your options.

Who is this support for?

Community access support is suitable for any NDIS participant who wants to engage more with their local community. Whether you’re looking to build social connections, maintain independence, or simply get out of the house more regularly, this support is designed for you.

Services

Social Programs & Group Activities

Our social programs bring people together in a fun, welcoming environment. Designed to build friendships, develop skills, and create genuine connections, our group activities are a highlight for many of our participants and something we’re really proud of.

What kinds of group programs do you run?

Our programs vary and are shaped around what participants enjoy and want to experience. Activities can include cooking sessions, arts and crafts, sports and fitness, day trips, movie outings, animal-assisted activities, and community events. We keep things fun, inclusive, and genuinely enjoyable.

How are your group programs structured?

Programs are run in small groups to make sure every participant gets the attention and support they need. Our support workers are experienced in creating inclusive environments where everyone feels comfortable, welcome, and able to participate at their own pace.

How do I join a group program?

Getting started is simple. Reach out to our team and we’ll talk through the programs currently running in your area, find something that suits your interests and goals, and get you set up. Group programs are a great way to meet new people and try new things without any pressure.

Services

Appointments & Everyday Errands

Sometimes the most important support is simply having someone reliable by your side for the everyday stuff. We help participants attend medical appointments, run errands, access government services, and manage the practical tasks that keep daily life running smoothly.

What kinds of appointments can you support me with?

We can support you to attend GP visits, specialist appointments, allied health sessions, hospital appointments, Centrelink, and any other appointments that are part of your regular routine. We provide transport, accompany you inside if needed, and make sure you feel comfortable throughout.

What if I need support with personal care while I'm out?

No problem at all. Our support workers are trained to assist with personal care needs while you’re in the community, always with dignity and respect for your privacy and preferences.

Can you help with transport?

Yes. We can assist with transport to and from appointments and activities as part of your community access support. We’ll work with you to arrange the most suitable transport option based on your needs and location.

Services

Lifestyle & Independence Support

Building independence isn’t just about what you can do at home. It’s about feeling confident out in the world too. Our lifestyle and independence support helps participants develop the skills and routines they need to engage with their community more freely and live the life they want.

What does lifestyle support involve?

Lifestyle support can include learning to use public transport, building social skills, developing routines for getting out regularly, managing money when out and about, and practising any other skills that help you engage more independently with your community and daily life.

How is this different from standard community access?

Standard community access is about getting out and participating. Lifestyle and independence support goes a step further by focusing on building skills over time so that you need less assistance as your confidence grows. It’s goal-focused support with real outcomes.

Is this suitable for younger participants?

Absolutely. Lifestyle and independence support is particularly popular with younger participants who are working toward greater independence as part of their longer-term NDIS goals. We tailor everything to the individual, regardless of age.
